Trauma Informed Somatic Healing for Women
Helping women navigate chronic stress, burnout, trauma, reproductive health challenges, chronic pain, and nervous system overwhelm through body based somatic healing.
Support available in Okotoks, Alberta and online across North America.
This work may be supportive if you find yourself:
Constantly overthinking.
Feeling disconnected from your body, emotions, or needs.
Struggling to rest, slow down, or switch off.
Repeating the same patterns in relationships despite understanding them intellectually.
Feeling responsible for everyone else's wellbeing while neglecting your own.
Living with chronic tension, stress, pain, fatigue, or nervous system overwhelm.
Knowing exactly why you do what you do, but still feeling stuck.
Second guessing yourself.
Difficulty setting boundaries.
People pleasing.
Perfectionism.
Hyper independence.
Feeling numb.
Feeling everything.
Feeling disconnected from joy, pleasure, creativity, or a sense of aliveness.
Navigating grief, loss, trauma, major life transitions, reproductive health challenges, chronic illness, caregiving, or burnout.
Wanting a deeper understanding of yourself that goes beyond insight alone.
Because sometimes the missing piece isn't more information.
Sometimes it's learning how to listen to the part of you that's been speaking through the body all along.
Why Somatic Healing?
Many of us have spent years trying to think our way into feeling better.
We understand our patterns.
We know where they came from.
We can explain exactly why we react the way we do.
Yet we still find ourselves stuck in the same cycles.
That's because our experiences don't just shape the mind. They shape the body as well.
Stress, trauma, grief, chronic pain, illness, burnout, and life experiences can influence the nervous system and the way we move through the world. Over time, these patterns may show up physically through tension, fatigue, overwhelm, disconnection, digestive symptoms, difficulty resting, or a sense that something just doesn't feel right.
Somatic healing offers a different approach.
Rather than focusing only on thoughts, we explore the physical sensations, patterns, responses, and cues that shape your day to day experience.
By working with the body, many people begin to experience meaningful shifts in how they relate to stress, emotions, relationships, boundaries, rest, and their overall wellbeing.
This isn't about fixing you.
It's about creating the conditions for greater awareness, choice, connection, and healing.
What Clients Often Notice Over Time:
Every person's experience is unique, and outcomes vary from client to client. While somatic healing does not diagnose or treat health conditions, many people notice meaningful shifts in how they relate to themselves, their emotions, their relationships, and their physical wellbeing.
Through this work, clients often report:
• Feeling more connected to themselves and their bodies
• Recognizing stress, overwhelm, and emotional activation earlier
• Greater self trust and confidence in their decisions
• Less people pleasing and self abandonment
• Improved ability to set and maintain boundaries
• Feeling emotions without becoming consumed by them
• Increased capacity to navigate difficult conversations, transitions, and challenges
• More compassion toward themselves and their experiences
• Reduced tension and holding patterns within the body
• Improved awareness of physical cues, needs, and internal signals
• Greater ease with rest, recovery, and self care
• Improvements in sleep, energy, and overall wellbeing
• Increased resilience during periods of stress, illness, grief, or uncertainty
• A greater sense of presence, choice, and connection in daily life
Some clients also notice changes in physical symptoms such as muscle tension, pain, digestive discomfort, inflammation, fatigue, and stress related hormonal concerns. While these outcomes cannot be guaranteed and are not the focus of treatment, many people find that supporting the nervous system positively influences their overall sense of health and wellbeing.
The goal is not to become perfectly calm, regulated, or unaffected by life. It is to develop a relationship with yourself that feels more connected, supportive, and sustainable.
What Sessions May Include:
Every session is unique and guided by your goals, experiences, and what feels manageable for your nervous system.
Depending on your needs, sessions may include:
• Nervous system education
• Body awareness and sensory tracking
• Breath awareness and grounding practices
• Gentle movement and posture exploration
• Exploring emotions, stress responses, and patterns through a somatic lens
• Developing awareness of boundaries, needs, and internal cues
• Building resources for regulation, resilience, and self support
• Creating space for experiences that may have been ignored, minimized, or pushed aside
There is no expectation to share more than feels comfortable. Sessions are collaborative, trauma informed, and paced according to what feels supportive for you.
